Alutra Photochromic lens
This copper/brown sun-filter has undergone extensive flight deck testing and has excellent colour acuity. The photochromic element is activated by UV light and the lenses won’t darken in typical airliner flight deck conditions (or even when driving the car) allowing optimum high contrast performance.
Category 2 lens unactivated, Category 3 lens activated.
General purpose, sports, driving and flying.
Alutra Gradient lens
These are Alutra lenses blended with a light gradient mirror finish. Unlike our cosmetic mirror finishes the gradient mirror is designed to darken the upper part of the lens whilst retaining the original design characteristics in the lower part. Some people have a higher sensitivity to bright light than others and this lens has been introduced to help these people in high contrast environments like flight decks or driving.

Zeolite Polarized lens
These lenses employ the same HCNB technology as our Zeolite lens together with optimised polarization. Polarization normally comes into its own in high-glare situations – typically sea, snow and sand.

These mirror finishes are designed to be purely cosmetic – they don’t change the lens properties at all. We offer them because many people prefer the way they look. It’s as simple as that – the same brilliant lenses but a different appearance. The Alutra finish is an iridescent gold and the Zeolite is an iridescent blue. Other finishes will be available in limited editions.
